Four Year Old Sessional Kindergarten - City of Kingston

Our four-year-old Kinder program has been developed using careful observations of the individual strengths, needs and interests of each child. It is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework which focuses on 5 key learning outcomes: Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication.

The educators at Aspendale Gardens Kindergarten believe learning and development is
stimulated through play-based learning experiences. This is supported through intentional teaching,
spontaneous teaching moments and child-initiated activities. The children are encouraged to
explore their environment, both constructed and natural.

During the year there are a number of incursions and excursions that aim to provoke and inspire further
learning. Incursions include: Melbourne Museum, Pet Awareness, Wild Action, Dental visit and Seaweed Sally. Excursions include: Monash Medical Centre, Water Awareness Day at the local pool, the Cranbourne CFA
and Traffic school, Myuna Farm and visits to Aspendale Gardens Primary School.
