Walking Football 4 Health Victoria is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting health, social inclusion, and well-being through a modified version of football (soccer).

Walking Football 4 Health Victoria Aims To:

  • Encourage Active Aging

  • Promote physical activity among older adults to improve cardiovascular health, mobility, and overall fitness.

  • Encourage Family Participation

  • Promote physical activity while also encouraging families to play together, strengthening bonds across generations. Encourage many other demographics, like women, people with disability and people with neurological conditions to become active and social. Foster Social Inclusion

  • Create a welcoming environment where participants can connect, build friendships, and combat social isolation.

  • Improve Mental Well-being

  • Engage individuals in a team-based sport to boost mental health, reduce stress, and enhance self-esteem.

 

What is Walking Football?

Walking Football is a low-impact, modified version of soccer where players are required to walk instead of run. The game maintains the essence of soccer while reducing injury risks, making it ideal for seniors, those recovering from injuries, or anyone looking for a gentle yet engaging way to stay active.

 

Key Features of Walking Football:

âš½ No running – Players must always have one foot on the ground.

âš½ Non-contact sport – Tackling and physical challenges are minimized to prevent injuries.

âš½ Modified rules – Smaller pitches, lower-intensity gameplay, and reduced ball heights make it safer and more accessible.

âš½ Team-based environment – Encourages communication, teamwork, and social interaction.
