About
As part of Science Week, AGCS is running a SCIENCE SPECTACULAR in collaboration with Mad About Science! Aimed at children aged 3 to 5, the immersive workshop includes whole class demonstrations as well as free exploration time. Six workstations will be set up with a variety of open-ended science activities, each centering around a particular area of science. Examples of activities include:
CHEMISTRY
Elephant's toothpaste, instant snow eruptions & colour-changing indicators.
MAGNETISM
Iron fillings encased in plastic, magnet cars, magnetic wands and magnetic marbles.
ELECTRICITY
Energy sticks, globes and propeller circuits, snap circuits.
MINIBEASTS
Multiple specimens of bug and insects encased in resin with magnifying glasses.
LIGHT & COLOUR
Kaleidoscopes, lenses, colour filters for mixing and rainbow fireworks glasses.
FORCE & MOVEMENT
Mini Hoberman, rolling car, gyroscope, flying wing prop top.
